The location of Stonehenge is on an open hillside of Wiltshire on the edge of military ranges and Salisbury Plain and easily spotted from the main London to Exeter A303 road.

There are three hotels in Amesbury, The The Antrobus Arms Hotel , the George Hotel and the Fairlawn. Outside of the town apart from the Holiday Inn on the Solstice Business Park there are the Parkhouse Motel and the Redhouse Hotel about 10 minutes drive from Stonehenge to the west.

Amesbury’s premier Antrobus Arms Hotel has plenty of car-parking available, is long established and has a good reputation. Recently refurbished its history includes the somewhat unique fact that the Beatles stayed there in the 60’s whilst filming ‘Help’ on Salisbury Plain and occupied Room No. 20! The Antrobus Arms hotel offers an excellent dining experience in beautiful surroundings with a wide selection of meals and wines and is particularly proud of the quality of its Real Ales.

The Fairlawn, also in the High Street of Amesbury, is a small family run hotel which comes recommended for its cosy and friendly atmosphere.

Outside of the town and also well worth considering is Parkhouse Motel on the Cholderton roundabout close to the A303 only a 10 minute drive west along the dual carriageway to Stonehenge. This is also a family run hotel who are pleased to welcome and accommodate family and disabled visitors. There is ample car-parking available at the rear of the main building which is level and provides very easy access into the hotel.
