Camping and Caravan sites near Longleat - Wiltshire

Camping and Caravan sites near Longleat are widely scattered throughout the county of Wiltshire. Most are within easy reach of Longleat estate.

Longleat is arguably one of England’s most popular attractions with plenty of family activities available. The Safari Park is probably the best known as when established in 1966 it was a world first.

Latterly over the years more attractions have been added such as the Adventure Castle particularly attractive for the younger children but more recently the Spiders Web has been added, a challenging climbing route for the older children. Of course there are many, many more from the ever-popular miniature railway to the maze to get lost in. Fishing, walking, visiting the stately home, one of the best in England, and the Gardens to name but a few. Then of course there is the Safari Park where you can see so many animals ‘in the wild’, lions, tigers, giraffes, monkeys, wolves, camels and the rare white rhino.

Also listed in Wiltshire Tourist Guide is The Two Counties Camping and Caravan Site. It is located just outside Mere, with a choice of shops, pubs and eating places and only two minutes from the main A303 London to Exeter route. The campsite is 15-20 minutes drive to Longleat Safari Park. Stourhead House and Gardens is even closer.

Two Counties also offers onsite fishing and golfing facilities. Owned and run by Eric and Pauline Mitchell it makes the perfect spot for a peaceful break as well as being ideally situated for annual events such as The Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show and the famous Dorset Steam Fair.
