The wharf is alive with activity during the summer season and well worth visiting is The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust museum. The museum relates the history of the canal from its construction in the early 18th century and its heyday through the years of decline and decay to its re-opening in 1990.



10 minutes walking from the wharge will take you to the spectacular Caen Hill flight of 29 locks.

There are many attractions in the town such as the annual Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon at Easter and the renowned Devizes Carnival in August. There is no better way to explore the history of Wiltshire than by visiting the Wiltshire Heritage Museum in Silver Street.
