Pubs in Marlborough Wiltshire

Pubs in Marlborough Wiltshire offer a range of choices from the simple to the sophisticated both inside and outside the town.

Silks on the Downs pub and restaurant, with rooms is just one mile outside Marlborough on the Swindon.

For a traditional family run village pub you can find the The Horshoe Inn in over an acre of grounds, at the village of Mildenhall which is just a short drive from the town of Marlborough. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and extensively renovated some eight years ago the Horseshoe Inn provides a welcoming atmosphere. The inn offers a delightful setting for both guests and customers. It is a free house and keeps a range of real ales including Speckled Hen and the ever popular Bass. Restaurant facilities, superb gardens and patio all add to a deservedly popular country inn.

Every summer for the last 20 years Marlborough hosts its popular Jazz Festival weekend, the largest in England. The whole town celebrates jazz at more than 20 venues around the town. This weekend of jazz hosts over 90 bands and a wide range of music including boogie-woogie and fusion and attracts crowds of over ten thousand.

The Sun Inn, an old coaching inn, as well as hosting events during the Jazz festival, also has a weekly ‘open mike’ evening and a monthly jazz night. Situated at the west end of Marlborough’s wide and impressive High Street, the historic Sun Inn would have been one of the first such coaching inns that London-bound coaches encountered when entering the town. The inn can trace its history back to the 15th century and has a lovely secluded garden which is a haven in summer. Today, the Sun Inn offers a warm welcome to all, offering accommodation, food, and of course drinks.

Other pubs in Marlborough Wiltshire include The Roebuck Inn on the London Road . Again, originally a coaching inn (Marlborough is on the old London to Bath coaching route) the inn has a forty seater restaurant and their exceptional menus have been designed to the very highest standards using ingredients sourced locally wherever possible. Carl, the chef has won two Booker Swords of Excellence for his work and has a strong following from both far and near.
