DescriptionForget your roadside cafe stops. Come and visit a traditional Wiltshire pub in the town of Mere half way between London and Cornwall just off the A303.
The Butt of Sherry was originally built when a widow and her son set up as spirit dealers in 1848 and the building has retained a wealth of charm and character.
Mere also provides an ideal base from which to explore the many local tourist attractions including nearby Stourhead House and Gardens, Longleat House and Safari Park and Stonehenge to mention a few.
The area is wonderful for walking and is on the Wiltshire Cycleway which passes through the town.
Relax in a laid back congenial atmosphere and enjoy a drink from our range of real ales, lagers, wines and spirits.
We are also pleased to serve food from our main menu and specials board in the bar.
There is a pleasant outside courtyard to the rear, with tables, chairs and parasols. Ashtrays are provided for the convenience of smokers.
Snacks, teas and coffees are available all day.
• All day breakfast from 8:30 every day.
• Home cooked pub food every lunchtime from 12:00 to 2:30.
• Traditional Roasts every Sunday lunchtime.
All our food is freshly cooked from locally sourced ingredients.
