DescriptionThis 4 star B&B is a listed thatched period cottage near the village pub and Kennet and Avon Canal in a renowned cycling and walking area in the heart of Wiltshire.
We are finalists for Eviivo Gold Award 2011 (for customer service)
Run by Trish and Max, The Finches offer two charming en-suite bedrooms, one a double and the other a double or twin room. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes right on the doorstep of this beautiful corner of one of England’s most fascinating and historical counties.
Within easy reach are many other attractions, Marlborough, Avebury and Stonehenge, the Neolithic mound of Silbury Hill, the cathedral city of Salisbury and a little further afield Bath, Oxford, Newbury and the Cotswolds.
A full English, vegetarian or healthy option breakfast is served between 8.00am and 9.30am in the pretty dining room overlooking the garden. All breakfasts include a choice of fruit juices, toast, cereals and a choice of beverages. Local Wiltshire produce is used wherever possible and in fine weather breakfast can be served in the courtyard garden.
The village pub and restaurant, The Royal Oak, only a few yards from the Finches has an extensive menu and is ideal for evening meals. There are also a variety of restaurants and inns in Marlborough.
Unfortunately, although children over the age of 12 are welcome, the cottage is unsuitable for very young children and we are unable to accommodate dogs.
