Carnival week kicks off on the August Bank holiday period and continues through the week with Street Parades culminating in the grand Carnival parade proper on the following Saturday.
Another event well worth catching is the gruelling 125 mile annual Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon Race at Easter. This is held every Easter and starts out from Devizes Wharf with crews departing at regular intervals through the day.
